Inside Electrix Vintage NYFW Pop Up
1. What made you start Electrix Vintage?
Initially, I started Electrix wanting to clear out my closet and get a little creative in the process. I was a bored 15-year-old in quarantine with not much to do, so I cropped and bleached some clothes I was ready to part with, and they sold really well, so I leaned in!
2. Can u walk us through the curation process?
Curation at Electrix Vintage is a lot more extensive in comparison to a lot of vintage shops in NYC. We work directly with state managers as well as collectors throughout New Jersey as well as the northeast. I hand pick each item rather than the typical vintage store, which is wholesale or thrift, which we don’t partake in. This ensures every piece is something that aligns with our brand and curation seasonally.

3. What was the most exciting and crazy part of planning this exhibition for NYFW?
The installation has been quite a journey so far, but I have my team to thank for so much coordination and help thus far. We physically mocked up the installation in our studio space in Brooklyn prior to the event as well as multiple mock ups and meetings with the venue. We really wanted to capture our brand and what we love about vintage and bring it to life not only though the installation, but the customer experience as a whole

4. What are some of your goals for Electrix Vintage this year?
Our goals for Electrix this year heavily involve our step into developing our vintage-inspired line called Cook & White. This brand will focus on re-creating our favorite vintage pieces to collect and refining and developing new styles using deadstock (vintage) textiles. We are also planning more pop-up shops throughout NYC and the northeast.
5. Please tell me a bit about your event, how you came up with it, the process, what you were most excited about, and some of your favorite aspects to the event!
We are hosting a pop-up installation at The Ethereal Show, a collective runway event during NYFW! It is being held at 30 Wall Street, a historic downtown venue in the heart of the financial district. Ethereal inquired about the event a few weeks out, and we sprang into action with concepting and how we could bring Electrix to life at their event. I am most excited to be hosting interviews inside of the installation throughout the event with guests, VIPS, fashion enthusiasts, and more.
Overall, the event was a success, and I am so proud of my colleague and, most of all, my friend for creating such an amazing, curated, and authentic brand!
Electrix vintage allows people who love fashion to create authentic, stylish, and out-of-the-box looks with one-of-a-kind pieces that not only look great but have a story! Curation is so hard to do well nowadays with the oversaturated market of “vintage shops” as our generation has created a trend of loving secondhand vintage pieces in fashion, that Electrix vintage is a breath of fresh air! Their prices are fair; the curation is amazing, from their one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces to garments. This is definitely a brand you have to check out immediately!
