Revival of the LEOPARD

Well, well, well… who would have thought the big bad cat would come back around in style? With fashion trends constantly cycling in and out about every twenty years or so, I’m predicting the well-deserved comeback of leopard print. 

Often, little pieces of fashion throughout the decades will circle back around in style and current icons of the fashion world will revamp it in a new and exciting manner. Remember the scrunchie craze of 2019? Or the resurgence of flared pants? It seems as though trends throughout the decades are always coming back for their moment. Now, you might be thinking, “Leopard print? Bleh, tacky.” But give the girl a chance! 

Animal print is a tricky concept to predict for a comeback, simply because of the eccentric and in-your-face impression it gives off. But, especially since we’re amid monochrome fits, the clean girl aesthetic, and timeless outfits, maybe a bit of boldness is just what we need. With the right matching and placement, leopard print can elevate a look and be the missing statement piece to your perfect outfit! With the current wintery weather taking up the East Coast by storm, we might see leopard-printed coats with more subtlety to the material and pattern. If you want to add just a touch of fierceness to your outfit, pairing a leopard-printed faux fur coat with a sleek black dress could be the perfect move this winter. Since we’re coming out of a minimalist approach to not only fashion but lifestyle as well, rather than the big black and yellow dots you may be thinking of, the color palette may be more neutral with darker browns, to create a more cohesive and graceful transition from our current styling into the new year. Already having hit the celebrity world towards the end of 2023, the fierce and daring print is predicted to have a hot comeback this year.
