NYFW Roundup: Hits, Misses, and the Unexpected
Eckhaus Latta
While it looks like something of a mashup between ERL and Dries, the clothing is cool and the client is there. These are seriously wearable garments that would make anyone feel like the talk of Bushwick.
Calvin Klein
This show certainly did happen and there certainly were clothes, but I’m not sure who’s wearing them. I really do believe Veronica Leoni just needs a bit more time to find her footing, but unfortunately this collection was very underwhelming.
Thom Browne
Perfect as per usual. Much more colorful than what we’re normally used to seeing with Thom. Beautiful patterns, stunning tailoring, and astoundingly creative, it’s clothing that becomes more incredible the longer you look at it. It’s as much fun as you can have with clothes on!
Altazurra
Chloe meets Old Celine. I’m not mad, but I’m not elated either. This girl is cool and she has pockets deep enough to buy the clothing, but she also has plenty of places to go to find this look.
Colleen Allen
As an alum of The Row, Colleen Allen could’ve remained comfortably in the sartorial vein of her former employer’s minimal world, but she didn’t. Instead, we’ve been given quirky, pseudo-vestmental pieces that are of their own unique and deeply chic universe.
