Suits on!
Suits on! Not that they were ever off…
Button the buttons, tie the ties, shine the dress shoes, the runways and the terribly stylish are once again favoring a bit of chic tailoring! Suits; smart blazers, button-downs, French cuffs, and the like can all be seen strutting the catwalk, but what does that mean for you? Well for a start, work doesn’t need to be so drag any longer. On top of this, you don’t need a change of clothes to go out after!
This is one of those cases where it's okay to bring work home and then maybe out the door dancing with you! Get creative. Think 90s Armani. Oversized is, as always, in for all of my fans of the slouch. And for those of you who prefer fitted pants that aren’t skinny, the blazer and shirt can be a form- look, fear not. So long as it fits you, please.
Look to ERL’s suiting for some more creative takes on the look and to YSL for more traditional high-fashion views on the style. And don’t be afraid to don some preppy overcoats. The longer the better, and I would say favor a cut with a bit more room to it.
Wall Street and finance are begging to be ripped off and emulated! Do I dare say a khaki, and cable knit could be IN STYLE?! As always the penny loafer is alive and well in any fashionistas closet, but also consider funking up a pump by adding a sock or a leg warmer! Something fun to make a buttoned-up look a bit more loose and tongue-in-cheek
