The Crois-ookie or Cook-sant?

What would happen if a croissant and a cookie had a baby?

The newest food trend in town is here and be warned, this trend is for the sweet tooth and sugar lovers only: the Cookie-Croissant (or my boyfriend likes to call it, the crois-ookie or cooksant). What is it? A simple explanation would be a flaky croissant filled and topped with buttery, gooey chocolate chip cookie dough then baked to golden perfection. New York City bakeries have taken this idea from social media and have run with it (this innovative recipe came from a small French bakery in Paris, Maison Louvard). 

Now is this trend worth the hype? I already warned those “not too sweet” lovers that this isn’t for you because this treat is DECADENT. As someone who has a huge sweet tooth and whose favorite foods consist of croissants and cookies, I was in heaven eating this creation. The crispy exterior of the cookies was absolutely stunning while the creaminess of the chocolate was rich. Although I enjoyed this, I will say that it’s quite thick and heavy since it’s a lot of butter and sugar at once. On an everyday basis, I would choose either a croissant or cookie separately but if someone bought this again for me (wink wink), I definitely would not say no.
