Toothpaste? Or Delicious?
As an avid fan of anything mint chocolate, my open love for the combination has sparked mixed reviews among my fellow foodies. This honestly always reminds me how different everyone’s taste buds can be. Mint chocolate has long been a subject of debate—some enthusiasts adore the refreshing mint paired with the sweetness of chocolate, while others find the combination jarring and reminiscent of toothpaste…
Some people argue that they should never mix and although I can understand their perspective, I just simply just do not agree. Admittedly, the artificial intensity of some mint flavoring can be overwhelming, but I personally enjoy the refreshing taste and sensation. Despite the division, the mint chocolate chip remains a controversial yet beloved classic in the sweet-tooth world, much like the age-old debate over pineapple on pizza.
Also, for the mint chocolate chip lovers out there, is it just me, or does the color sometimes add to the taste? I do not know why, but when I go to an ice cream shop, and I see that beautiful sage green amongst all the other flavors, it just feels nostalgic and makes me feel more excited for my scoop. Do not get me wrong, a white versus green mint chocolate scoop, I’m sure tastes the same, but sometimes the green just adds to the experience. Whenever my mint chocolate chip scoop is white, I do not know why, but it feels bougie rather than classic. Don’t judge me too harshly for choosing mint chocolate chip ice cream as one of my top go-to flavors.
