TORRISI… Did Tik-tok get it right?
Torrisi a new Italian spot in NYC that has everyone constantly refreshing the RESY page for a reservation. Well after finally getting a table, let me tell you the must get bites at this spot!
The tortellini pomodoro, caratelli with Jamaican beef ragu along with the Italian and american hams with zeppole are A MUST at Torrisi. Let's start off with the zeppole appetizer, it comes with two types of prosciutto, the fluffiest zeppoles and the most dreamy pineapple jam. This pineapple jam is SO DELICIOUS, I want a jar of this IMMEDIATELY! The saltiness of the prosciutto to the sweetness of the jam really creates the most perfect bite. Also side note- their bread and butter is PERFECTION, not just because it is free. Their sesame bread is freshly baked everyday and their butter is whipped to perfection.
Now for the pastas, these two dishes have broke the internet and after trying both I understand why. The tortellini is like a perfect pillow with the most perfect creamy stuffing. I won’t lie it was not my favorite sauce in terms of the red sauces I have tried here in the city but the pasta itself really was so memorable. The cavatelli on the other hand really has a kick and DOES NOT LACK IN FLAVOR! I was worried this dish was going to be lacking in spice but wow was I wrong. THANK GOODNESS!
They tend to have specials daily and we got to try a new porchetta sandwich they had today and OMG, this pork was SO JUICY! It had the perfect crust and fattiness, along with their salsa verde and sesame bread is the perfect combination in a sandwich. But be ready to share this sandwich as it is HUGE, definitely worth the price and definitely worth trying! So this is a spot where if you can get in, whether it be lunch or dinner, SNAG THAT TABLE!
The service here also is impeccable and everyone is so kind and welcoming. Service to me really adds to the overall dining experience as fellow Taste-maker Ruby and I have mentioned in previous articles prior. They even give you a free little dessert at the end of your meal ON THE HOUSE! (its nothing crazy but a nice thing to receive at the end of your meal for free) I highly recommend this tiktok famous spot, for your next perfect bite in NYC.
