Where are the suits, where are the gowns, what happened to our formal wear?

What happened to the great joy that is getting dressed for an occasion? When I’ve been out recently, I can’t help but notice the odd casualness that’s seeped into the way we dress for dinner or a night out. The repetitive outfits, the safe styling, the altogether lack of something that really makes an outfit exciting.

We’ve lost our sense of what warrants dressing up! There is a joy to really getting ready for an event. There’s something so sweet about the payoff knowing how long the product took to make. The food tastes better, the music sounds sweeter, we feel hotter!

Next time you have it, take the opportunity to dress up, treat yourself to getting ready.
