Bloom in Spring 2024

Stop and look at the roses!

Roses have bloomed in Spring 2024 Runway collections from Balmain, Mcqueen to Simone Rocha. All with unique interpretations of the very flower itself, playing with prints or a more sculptural approach this season. Fashion has always been art but this season designers push the line of wearability and focus in on creating a striking sculptural approach to their garments. Personally one of my favorite fashion week looks I saw walking the runway of SS24 was Rolf Ekroth’s rose suit. It was STUNNING!

The hanging roses created this soft look on this menswear suit that felt chic, elevated and refreshing for the floral season. Now I know what you're thinking and I can also hear Miranda Presley’s voice in my head saying, “florals for spring…Groundbreaking,” but lets face it, either way, florals are back for spring. Did florals ever leave the world of spring fashion? The truth is, no, not really, but its peak popularity in fashion does come in waves due to it being such a classic concept. “Florals for spring”, can be hard to find ways to innovate without coming off tacky or boring as it has been done for centuries. Think about it, even in our closets, when it comes to florals I can guarantee it's either a basic sundress, or a crop top from highschool sitting in the backs of closets rather than anything really interesting. Florals have always been hard to find in unique and chic pieces that are actually wearable for everyday, but I realized the key to it is trying to find a more 3D approach. Even something as simple as clipping on roses to heels, as I have been seeing everywhere and honestly what a cute little DIY moment!

We have been seeing across the runway shoes a revival of what I call “classic patterns.” From polka dots to florals you will be getting a revival of the 50’s and modernized floral looks for more men then women this year!
