Hidden Sweet Spot in BK:Patisserie Tomoko

A hidden gem in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Patisserie Tomoko is a small, adorable cafe that serves incredible, not-too-sweet Japanese-influenced French desserts. The cafe’s interior is filled with plants with one counter (for their weekend dessert course menus) and a couple seats, perfect for parties of 3-4 people.

Top right: chocolate yuzu crepe cake|Left: fresh fruit tart|Bottom right: salty caramel nut tart

We ordered the chocolate yuzu crepe cake, fresh fruit tart, and the salty caramel nuts tart. There were no complaints while we devoured all three. They were all uniquely different from one another so it was hard to choose a favorite: the crepe cake was citrus-y, the fruit tart juicy and the nuts tart sweet and savory. As much as we loved the baked goods, we HIGHLY recommend their parfaits. We ordered their popular matcha flavor which was presented so beautifully and filled with toppings like strawberry purée, mochi, red bean and a savory sesame crisp. Overall an aesthetically refreshing dessert that I can’t stop thinking about. I have nothing but good things to say about this bakery and will DEFINITELY be back to try more (& hopefully their dessert course menu)!
