@MISSRUBIO SEPTEMEBER TOP 3 BITES!

  1. Sukh Thai

  2. ChoDangol

  3. Mikiya

Sukh Thai

Sukh Thai is Brooklyn’s newest and hottest Thai restaurant you NEED to check out. The interior is inspired by vintage train carriages in Thailand, giving you the cozy feel of dining in a train booth with charming red velvet and wood accents. The menu features an extensive selection of regional Thai dishes, some familiar and others that might be new to you. Each dish is beautifully crafted and packed with flavor, offering just the right amount of heat, with options ranging from seafood to pork and beef! As someone who isn’t great with spicy food, I challenged myself to try the Larb Nurh (which is incredible), the Hor Mok (delicious crab curry bites), and the Panang Nuer (amazing short rib). While they’re currently waiting on their liquor license, their non-alcoholic drinks are exceptional!

ChoDangol

I think I just discovered my new favorite Korean restaurant in the city—ChoDangol! This place is famous for its house-made tofu, which is firm, bouncy, and always served warm with a delightful hint of salt. While you need to try one of their tofu dishes, I also highly recommend the Spicy Galbi Jjim; it’s incredibly savory, comforting, and has just the right kick of spice. Don’t miss the Bossam + Octopus combo, either—both the pork belly and boiled octopus are ridiculously tender and pair perfectly with the kimchi and veggies on the side. I also had the chance to try a dish I’d never seen before: Perilla Noodles. This ended up being the highlight of my meal! The noodles had the perfect chewiness, and the dish was refreshing, creamy, and uniquely nutty and savory. I would gladly wait in line for this spot since they don’t take reservations and are always bustling!

Mikiya

Four of my favorite letters: AYCE! At Mikiya, you’ll find an all-you-can-eat wagyu hotpot experience that’s simply unlike anywhere else in NYC. They’ve just opened a new location in Flushing, offering a variety of wagyu cuts that pair perfectly with their house shabu broths. The hotpot style leans more towards Japanese flavors, but it’s absolutely delicious! The wagyu is incredibly tender, fatty, and melts in your mouth. In addition to the beef, you can enjoy a range of other tasty options like sushi, curry, grilled seafood, fried foods, and grilled meats, depending on the price level you choose (which ranges from $45 to $100 per person). With hotpot season just around the corner, you’ll definitely want to stop by and warm up at this spot!
