Does This Need To Be Washed?

Aren’t you tired?

I’m tired, I’m exhausted by the constant battle between me and maintaining pristine clothing. Which in reality it is a battle with myself. I can’t go more than about 20 minutes without staining whatever I’m wearing in some way, and I refuse to change what I’m wearing in hopes of staining my clothing less. I will not don hydrophobic clothing for every outing, I will rise above stains. But how? I mean any way you cut it, clothing gets dirty.

Well, I believe there is a change coming. I have noticed rumblings among the fashionable. Stained clothing, wrinkled clothing, worn clothing, it’s all there. Slowly creeping in under our noses. Trying to free us from the constant battle of keeping what we wear looking brand new. With the fashion community finally giving in to the idea of wearing garments that actually look worn, we are starting to see brands sell items that in term aren’t perfect. Items made so that you don’t feel bad about adding extra love and wear to them.

If you’re like me, you can’t help wanting to keep a pristine item pristine. But, you can feel fine about adding to the blemishes of an item that is already distressed and used. A pair of Acne Studios jeans that are dyed and distressed to look as though they’ve been through hell for example, what’s the harm in adding one or two more marks. The point here is that brands heard our grumbling, they felt our pain, and now they’re serving us a solution on a silver platter. I’m not one to normally call for everyone to go out and support a trend, but for the love of god buy this trend. Do it for me, I can’t take the pressure anymore. Let’s all agree to wear clothing that isn’t perfect, let’s stain, let’s wrinkle, let’s throw caution to the wind.

Who doesn’t want to feel a bit rebellious now and then?
