Ruby’s TOP 3 April Bites!

1.Carne Mare

Carne Mare is a beautifully vintage-inspired Italian restaurant located in Seaport. I knew I had to try Carne Mare after seeing that Beli had ranked it top 5 steakhouses in NYC. Although known for their meats, my biggest draw to them was their mozzarella stick with a fat lump of caviar on top (cause why not?). We got the 30 day dry aged tomahawk to share which was beautifully cooked; a well-seasoned crust on the outside while medium-rare and tender on the inside. My favorite side we got was their twice baked potato which was cooked with black truffle and fontina cheese — a bite of luscious heaven and the best potato I’ve ever had in my life. You have to end the night with dessert. We got their rich and decadent 17-layer chocolate cake (which I devoured). This meal was my Roman Empire this month.

2. Nubiani

Nubiani is considered one of the more elevated Korean BBQ options in Koreatown. Their meats are incredibly high quality and cooked for you by their servers. I highly recommend getting the beef combo and pork combo — you get to try a variety of both marinated and non-marinated meats (which are both so delicious). Their banchans is unlimited, which is great for me because I absolutely love their pickles and sweet potato mousse. After your meal, they give you a small complimentary cup of their Yuja soft serve which is exactly what you need after a heavy meal.

3. Chili

Considered one of the best Szechuan restaurants in NYC, Chili has ranked top 3 in my heart. Their presentation is top-tier and they have incredible asian-inspired cocktails. Every dish has so much flavor and is great for those who love and can handle the spice. My favorite bites from my meal were the truffle beef tenderloin, spicy wontons, dan dan noodles and spicy soft shell crabs (but you really can’t go wrong with any of their other dishes). Try their rice wine soup as your after meal dessert — small rice balls filled with black sesame inside a warm wine soup base (sounds unique but it all works beautifully).
