Started as a delivery service & ghost kitchen in Sunnyside, Rice Thief finally opened a physical store in Long Island City. Their interior is inspired by old-style Korean architecture and design with a beautiful natural brown finish.

Korean marinated crab is one of my favorite Korean foods and this place did not miss. For first-timers, I recommend getting the Gunsan Platter which comes with crabs, white shrimps, red shrimps, and abalone (all raw and soy-marinated). Everything was presented so beautifully, plus had so much flavor and meat in every bite. My personal highlights were the crabs (drooling while typing this) and the fat, juicy red shrimps! They also offer their own version of marinated spicy crabs which is a popular option as well. Koreans call this dish a “rice thief” because rice pairs so perfectly with the marinade and you’re gonna want to eat a lot of it. They also offer non-raw dishes like gamja tang, jokbal & squid dukbokki which tasted all so comforting. I recommend grabbing a bottle of makgeolli with your spread cause it hit so good.
